Boys Basketball

Micheal Manuel, Zach Manuel, Cyle Rees, Shaun Coppick, Dustin Salser, Colby Roseberry, and Taylor Deem. Marcus Hill, Andrew Roseberry, Ethan Martin, and Daniel Jenkins. These are all the people that played on the Varsity team this year. This season they went fiffteen and four. They were coached by Jeff Codwell. This past season they played schools like Miller and South Gallia. They also played Waterford and Symmes Valley, Wahama, Eastern, North Adams. They also played Federal Hocking. They also played Eastern Pike in the tornament. Then they also played Manchester in the tornament and lost; that ened their championship hopes.

The people playing on the base ball team this year are. Dustin Custer, John Grey, Eric Buzzard, Ethan Martin and Jesse Ritchie. Some other people that play on the team is Marcus Hill, Greg Jenkins, Devin Dillard , Taylor Deem, Jordon Taylor, Cole Graham, Daniel Jones. The other players on the base ball team are Dyllan Bass, Adam Warden, Michael Manuel, Kyle Cunningham, Adam PapeDustin Salser, Danie Jenkins, Nathan Richards (JV), and Daniel Ramthun. The Varsity Baseball teams record so far is 8-4 this season. So far the Varsity baseball played and lost to teams like Alexander and Federal Hocking. Southern has faced their rival the Eastern Eagles. That was another heartbreaking los for the Tornadoes. The Southern Baseball team have been District Champions for the past three years, and are looking to make it four years in a row. They are also cocached by Mister Lemley And Mister Detwiller and also Mister Berry

This year the Varsity Girls are coached by Katie Dickson. Helping her some this Season is Brian Swann and Cody the Trainer. The JV Coach for Softball is Mindy Patterson. The 2009 – 2010 Softball team cosist of Seniors: Lynzee Tucker, Breanna Taylor, Cheyene Dunn, Lindsay Teaford, Chelsi Ritchie, and Brooke Chadwell. Then next comes the Juniors: Bobbi Harris, Vadamae Counts, and Stephanie Berryman. Sophomores; Katelyn Hill, Hope Teaford, Kelly Humphrey, Morgan McMillan, and Kelsey Strang. Then the last missing link to this years team is the new faces of Southern High School. The Freshmen on the team: Maggie Cummins, Kyrie Swann, Tedra Sayre, Jaclyn Mees, Christa Berryman, finaly the last link that makes up the team is Mikayla Findley. This year they have played
The girls varsity team have had a good season so far. They played against their rival team last night the Eastern Eagles, and ended up losing 11-7. Although the girls lost they played very hard and tried their hardest. They only have 2 more weeks of games and then it comes time for tournaments.

Volleyball The 09 Girls Volleyball team consisted of these Seniors: Brenna Taylor, Ashley Walker, Katie Woods, Gabby Johnson, Stephanie Shamblin, Lindsay Teaford and Kayla Stevens. The next set of Southern High School girls that made up the VolleyBall team is the Juniors: Bobbi Harris and Michelle Ours, Vadmae Counts. The next set of High Schools girls that made up the team this year is Sophomores: Courtney Tomas, Hope Teaford, Kelsey Strang, Katelin Hill, Emily Ash, Morgan McMillian, Jessica Riffle and Amber Hymen. The next set that made up the girls Volleyball team was the Freshmen: Maggie Cummins, Angelica Eynon, and McKay la Finley. The girls VolleyBall team also had two new coaches Kate Dickson and Dan DeZordo. They tried the best to do a good job coaching the girls but the season did not go that way. 	Golf This years 2009-20210 golf team consisted of Seniors: Nathan Roush, Taylor Deem, Cyle Rees, John Powell, Kris Kleski, and Colby Roseberry. The team also consisted of Sophomores: Dylan Roush , and Andrew Roseberry. The last person that made up the team was Freshmen: Cole Gram. The team was coached by Mick Winebrinner. They were third in the TVC this year. They won six games this season and lost four matches this past season. – Jake Wilson

So far this past month the track team has partisipated all over SouthEast Ohio. Like on 1st of April when they patisipated in a track meet in Belpre. The team also partisipated in a track meet in NelsonVille on the 3rd of April for the Rocky Boot Invitational. They also have meets coming up in May that are in the TVC. The team has also done funrasiers like selling T shirts with the track and field logo on them. Afterwords they stated perepration for another fundraiser to sell hoodies and long sleve shirts also with the track and field logo on them. – Jake Wilson Girls Basketball This past school year the Girls basketball team was coached by Mr. Crisp and Mr. Weaver. The team mostley consised of Seniors: Cheyenne Dunn, Lindsay Teaford, and Lynzee Tucker. There were no Juniors on the team this season but there were Sophmores: Courtney Thomas, Jessica Riffle, Morgan McMillian, Kelly Humphrey, Emily Ash, and Ceairra Curran. Their were Fresmen:Shelby Pickens, Angie Eynon, Brittany Cougar, Maggie Cummins,and Kyrie Swann. The book keeper this past season was Lindia Teaford. Their rcord this sason was 3-20. The high scorer was Senior Cheyenne Dunn. The teams that they played this pased season was Ohio Valley Christian, Eastern, Meigs and Waterford. They also played Hannan this past season. all of their games were over the girls had tournament up in Athens where they ended up losing that ended their seson. – Jake Wilson Football This past football season had had lots of ups and downs. What I mean by ups and downs: We lost to our rivals the Easten Eeagles. In the last game of the season on of a heart braker for the graduating Seniors. We also a anoter low point when the team ended up going 6 and 8 and missed the playoffs. Then after the tuff season we had affter it was all over. We ended up getting a new Coach for the 2010 – 2011 football season his name is Kyle Wickline. So I geuss the moral to this past football season.
