 Baseball

            This season's baseball team is doing very well with a record of 10-4. The toughest part of this season is coming up. The Southern Tornadoes will face Eastern, Waterford, Meigs, Vinton County, Wellston, Wahama, and Symmes Valley in a double header. The team is looking forward to getting the number 1 seed in the tournament. To achieve this, the team must do very well in the upcoming stretch of games.

 Softball

    This years girls softball team has been doing extremely well. In the beginning of the season, the Lady Tornadoes just could not seem to get it together, but by the time games rolled around, everything started going as planned. Over half of the season is over and the Lady Tornadoes have only lost three games against Roane County, Federal Hocking, Waterford, and Ravenswood. Each of these four games were close games. The Lady Tornadoes beat Federal Hocking the second time around, but have not yet faced Waterford until May 6, and will not face Ravenswood again because it isn't considered a league game.They will also not face Roane County again either. The tournament draw is Sunday, May 4. If the Lady Tornadoes beat Eastern on May 5, and Waterford on May 6, they will win all TVC. Both of these teams are tough teams to beat, but if the Tornadoes continue to play like they have been, these games will be two games worth watching.

SHS Track

Track season this year is great. There is more this year out for track than last year. There is 15 boys and 5 girls. We started track back in March and have had 5-6 meets already. Although there is only 5 girls they are working harder and harder each and everyday. They keep getting better and better each and every meet. The guys have enough people to run in every event. Although we are not the best out there we still have the heart to work and become better with each passing meet. Everyone is getting better with every meet we've had. Each person is dropping there time every meet. Coach Cooksey is getting the team ready for the TVC's at Nelsonville and districts at Oak Hill. The team is still getting in shape for those very important meets. Coach Cooksey believes there are some that have a very good chance at both of those, TVC's and Districts.
